Connor Morrell, known in the art community by the name of Driftwood, is an artist from Ypsilanti, Michigan who now lives and works in his studio in Los Angeles, California.

Having received a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Eastern Michigan University in 2014, his academic studies have greatly impacted his body of work. Inspired most by traditional Japanese woodworking as well as the ancient forms of art displayed on cave walls throughout our collective human history, Connor has studied and adopted many ancient and traditional methods of painting and woodworking in order to bring his imagination to life

His work is an attempt to encourage the viewer to connect on a personal level with the pioneers of art from our collective histories. These artists are reaching out from 40,000 years ago through Driftwood, and he shares that feeling with you through his creations.
